Hi all,

Has anyone used Storyphones before? Having an issue when the storyphone base unit is plugged into a pc via usb at boot up. If the Storyphones are plugged in the pc gets stuck at the post screen, remove it from the usb and it boots ok. I remember there being a similar issue with certain smartboards and laptops a few years back.

I could tell the teachers to unplug the Storyphones before bootup but that may prove too much of a strain :)

The other issue is that we have initiated an auto bootup for teacher pcs in the morning which, of course gets stuck if the Storyphones are plugged in.

Any ideas? I wondered if I put a USB hub between the Storyphones and pc if it would help but I don't have one to hand (I'd have to order one :) )

I've got the StoryPhones and have exactly the same issue.

I'm lucky though, the teacher learnt how to leave the cable unplugged until they needed them.

To remedy the situation I meant to have a look in the BIOS and check the "boot from USB"was disabled.

Sadly, I've already disabled all other boot devices other than the local hard drive and it still doesn't work. Will try the usb hub just in case but I'm clutching at straws.

I'm currently looking into the Storyphone systems following a request from a KS1 head so I'd be interested in any input you folks might have on these systems... Are they any good? Any issues/problems to watch out for (other than the one mentioned), etc....

Thanks in advance...

Bought a set on request of deputy head. Have never seen them used, IMO get one of those CD players you can put 6 pairs of headphones into, much easier and probably cheaper.

Some thoughts. We had some clashes with other fixed letter Drive allocations due to an old piece of CD image/emulation software. Think I finished up allocating fixed letters to the 7 drives on Storyphone. Also, if it's affecting boot have you got Boot from USB disabled in Bios?
