Hi guys

Weve recently purchased some software which we can't run on our computers as it wants the users to access the C drive. After batting a few ideas around we decided to dual boot the system with a clean build of XP on another partition on the HDD. To image the workstations we decided to go with acronis true image, the only issue with this is that when it reboots it only changes the SID on the 1st partition, does anyone know a way of setting acronis to change the SID on both partitions? Or does the SID being changed on one of the partitions automatically apply to the other?

Any help would be much appreciated as I have the Head of ICT in the school breathing down my neck on this one

Thanks

Phil

How many machines, you could use NewSid to change the sid on the second partition.

Have you asked on here about getting this particular piece of software working, dual boot sounds like a complete pain in the neck. You'll probably get called into the room every time they want to use the software because the students are too daft too follow the instructions.

Its The Gmetrix software used for the Microsoft academy, its not that the software wont work, its more a case of not allowing users access to C. We tried a few things ie power users, running virtual machines etc but none of things worked hence why we went with dual boot. Ive edited the boot.ini file so now when the machine boots it comes up with 'Academy' and 'School Work' so that should avoid some confusion, is it possible to automate the NewSID software? As I've got to apply this image to about 130 workstations.

Thanks

Phil
