Bizzare DVD RW properties

Can someone explain this? i have backed all my work to the disc and now im viewing this disc at later period. i cant see anything when i view properties i get the below screenshot, I am baffled and no this screenshot is not photoshoped in anyway incase you say i did.

Bit of a stab in the dark, but did you burn the disc on a Windows PC?

 

I'm going from memory here so correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure somebody will ) but the native file system for a machine can be little endian or big endian depending on the processor type, and one is almost 'backwards' to the other, so if the disc was burnt on the opposite type to what the PC you put the disc in is using, it won't work (presuming it was burnt using the native file system as opposed to a standard UDF/ISO/Joliet format).

 

Or maybe your DVD drive is b*ggered? Do other DVD's work OK in the drive? Does that disc work in other machines?

CD being misread as a DVD or visa-versa?

I do have some software that will recover data from bad CD's / dvd's its years old but works treat.
