RDP on Mac to a windows machine and right clicking ?

Ok I have RDP on my power book G4 and maybe im missing something but how on earth do you right click in the windows session ?

 

I've tried apple - click, ctrl - click etc but to no avail , hhhmmmmm ?

Get a mouse.

I'm pretty sure that Ctrl-Click works for me (or was it Shift-Click). IIRC though you can change the behaviour in the options.

thought it was command-click myself, but plugging in a mouse might be easier!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have encountered this issue!

I will try my mighty mouse out tonight and will check my system prefs to see what I have it set to for right clicking but I'm 99.9% sure that I have it set to ctrl - click to do a right click in mac os x but if I do that in the RDP session it just sits there doing nothing.

As as a temp workaround see if SHIFT+F10 works in the RDP session.

This should bring up the context (right-click) menu up.

Is it not ctrl+shift and click by default? I haven't used it in a while.

You can change the setting but the defauylt is indeed Ctrl+Left Shift+Click by default.

On my macBook you can set it that tapping with 2 fingers on the touch pad is the alternate clokc, works perfectly with RDC

i went into system preferences, then to keyboard and mouse, then i selected trackpad, and the option was in there.

Apparently there is a contextual application setting for it too- if you look through some of the options in Remote Desktop Application it might be in there somewhere. I'm on my MBP currently and don't have it installed, but if you haven't found it by tomorrow morning I'll give it a try.

ok I have taken some screen shots of each tab of the RDP app in the preferences section ( Or whatever you wanna call it ) along with a screen shot of the tracking pad section in keyboard and mouse system prefs.

 

I have been using ctrl + shift and then clicking but apparently just double clicking on my G4 isn't possible from what I can tell , maybe im stuck with using a keyboard command and a click

Let me know if this can be done- otherwise the logical solution is to use a mouse.

Here is my screen shot for you, this is in system preferences then keyboard and mouse, makes everything easier, well i am hoping it isn't just a feture of Tiger

Does the Powerbook G4 support two finger scrolling on its trackpad? The macbooks had it built into the trackpad as per the specs on release so it may be the reason why it doesn't work...

 

PS have not checked the screenshots yet so it may be listed..
