mirojr Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Hello, I am wondering what people suggest as a backup domain controller. I would be looking to run some flavour of Windows on it. Thanks.
powdarrmonkey Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 There are no 'backup' domain controllers any more, only domain controllers and domain controllers with extra perks. (all DCs are equal, but some DCs are more equal than others...) Anyway.. pick a server, any server. Most DCs are pretty lightly loaded, you don't need anything special. 1
speckytecky Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I'm using one of those cheap £99 Proliant ML-115's. Works a treat, although I guess they're no longer £99 any more. As a matter of interest have you needd to add anything to bring it up to the spec you required?
MYK-IT Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Just looking at the classified ads, any one of these would do! http://www.edugeek.net/forums/classified-adverts/50831-hp-servers-storage-extreme-network-core-switch-also-autoloader.html
