Members who see adverts posted on job sites etc are more than welcome to post them on the job board, what chris is saying is that companys should not ask members to post jobs on the forums on there behalf to try and bypass it.. as this could happen and it is being monitored.

Also you say only schools are free, so can users myself not posts jobs that are not based in schools?

anyway, non-school based jobs should be posted on geek.net :p

On the subject of "lengthy discussions diluting job ads" I wonder if it is possible to auto-create a "discuss" thread with each "job" thread (even, posting a job needs "moderating" and the relevant mod does it by hand?).

I was thinking the same at least if someone is going to divert the thread they can post a link to the general chat forum.

Can we have some clarity of what threads can be posted in here as well. This might avoid jobs based discussions being moved to general chat.

(Witch, this is not a dig at you, I just think we need to be clear exactly what can and can't be posted).

If this is to be a forum JUST for job ads, then perhaps we should move this out of the regional forum and into its own so that ads can be put into a sub forum, discussions, interview tips/questions etc can be in sub threads/forums of their own thus keeping the ads free of discussion but all the discussions in one place rather than having to go to General Chat to find them.

In fact, shouldn't this be in the jobs forum and not General Chat?
