sounds like you need user codes enabling which is a 2 stage process - I can post instructions if need be on how to enable them.

 

Is this for specific copiers if so can you post back with models and also pm me serial numbers as I can claim them as fixes later on when I get back to work.

We have codes enable but the current software can not report the difference between a single and double pages.

To do this on our copiers, we use PaperCut MFD. We were told that by default, the copiers accounting capabilities are pretty limited.

depends on your contract as there are - Note - I will try to confirm the difference on the below and post back with any corrections if what I have posted is not precise.

Clicks are charged on a per page basis where

 

A4 is charged at one rate for black and white and more for Full Colour

A3 is charged at double A4 for both black and white and Full Colour Respectivly

 

Double Side is double the amount of a single sided sheet whether A4, A3 or whatever size it is.

 

Devs are charged for each developement used ( each colour is a developement ) so if you use all 4 colours ( black, cyan, magenta, yellow ) then you are charged 4 times ( once for each colour ).

 

But yes it would either be paper cut ( which ever version you go for whether it be MFD or otherwise ) or equitrac - would be worth while looking into equitrac as they do an educational version which I think is express. There are other products not relating to what you are requesting just so you are aware of them which are global scan, e copy, there are possibly other ones but have not come across them.

If we're talking about photocopiers, what's wrong with the count that the photocopier keeps in it's logs?

 

If users are forced to enter a code when sending a job to print, then it will also log those as well. Should be able to view it through the web control panel also.

 

Edit: ahh right, should read the post properly before posting. The internal copier counters should keep track of all the pages copied, the size of paper and whether it's duplexed or not though, it's somewhere in address book management I think. Doesn't seem to be on the Web Image Monitor though unfortunately.
