I had dizzy thoughts of what I could spend it on, new TV, deposit on a car or a top weekend out? So off I went to XE to do a conversion and found out what it was worth.... 32p Bugger.............

It'll be worth less than that by now. Isn't there hyper-inflation in Uganda?!
Disaster Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I found a fiver in a bin at school once. Of course I kept it!

Mako Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Any reason you were going through the bins? We have to feed ourselves somehow. Speaking of which, and looking at the time, I better get out there and salvage what's left from break before the kids descend for lunch...
SC-UK Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 We have to feed ourselves somehow. Speaking of which, and looking at the time, I better get out there and salvage what's left from break before the kids descend for lunch... That's ok then. I thought there must be a simple explanation for it
e_g_r Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Cashless catering has cut my alternative revenue stream that i get from penny picking
Tim_S Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 It'll be worth less than that by now. Isn't there hyper-inflation in Uganda?! That would be zimbabwe, uganda is very stable. That 1000 shillings will get you a cold beer or a dinner in Uganda! Interestingly, it's illegal to take shillings out of uganda. 1
SC-UK Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Interestingly, it's illegal to take shillings out of uganda. That's what I thought, it's a closed currency isn't it? A lot of places operate like this but people don't realise. We got in trouble coming back from Tunisia a few years ago with what amounted to some spare change that we hadn't managed to spend.
CHR1S Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 God imagin how much cash you would need to buy a car?? You would have to rent a dumper truck lol
Disaster Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Any reason you were going through the bins? The colour of money never escapes my beady eye! arrrr
