Hope Murray can get past Cilic here and make it to the final..

Was a bit disappointed Federer pulled it back last night.

PS. BBC Iplayer rocks.. Saves me having to watch the tennis on the ad-ridden Channel 7 here :)

I'm not a tennis fan and was just making a valid point considering a lot of people would have watched it while at work over the internet.

How does that work if you're watching it on the move via 3G or in a coffee shop, is that covered by your home licence?

As long as the laptop or phone is running off its battery you are covered by your home license but if you plug it into the mains your are not.

It pains me to say it, but there was no way anyone was going to win that match apart from Federer.

The Times this morning quite neatly sums it up:

Andy Murray is probably the finest mortal tennis player on earth. Yesterday he ran into a god. He went to the final of the Australian Open, and he took his A-game. Alas, Roger Federer took his.

Absolutely. It would have been a shock upset like england winning a world cup or something if Andy Murray had won..

Federer was right though when he said murray will win one eventually. He's only 22, plenty of time yet to do it.

Yes Andy has plenty of time I don't think Fed won his first slam untill he was 21-22.

nadal is 23 and has 6.

Very true. He was quite exceptional at a young age probably due to his build, I think if Andy had been in better shape and stronger at a few early tournaments he would of performed much better, he suffered in long matches with cramp and exhaustion quite often.

I think its a true reflection of the under investment in sport in the UK as a whole.

Andy Murray had to move to Spain to get the professional training he required to make it as a pro.

And when you look at the UK snowsport olympic team going bust in the run up to the olympics its just another reflection.

I reckon the weather has a massive part to play in things, but the difference between the investment in grassroot / school age sport ive noticed here compared to back home is astonishing.

Considering the population of both islands, the UK could really do with puting more money into sport.
