So I have just made another school website live.

Personally I wanted to do more testing but hey ho the Head wants it up.

So, if you get a chance take a look and let me know if you spot any errors and just what you think generally.

Any feedback much appreciated.

Edit: all content was put in by Head, I take no responsibility for that :)

Favicon, metadata needs changing.

Ah yeah cheers.

Add some news, I hate seeing empty pages.

Yeah me too, but as I said above the Head has taken charge of content and apparently he has no news

Cool thanks!

Oh and either remove or change "sysman_mk" at the bottom, maybe to sysmans real name.... Just a nickname on a schoolwebsite doesn't look 100% professional.

Hmm it was like that in the template he gave me, I will check with him.

what is the component that you use for the picture banner? is it easy for the images to be changed?

Its RokSlideshow.

Yeah dead easy to change, just upload picture and text file to correct folder.

Grab an old newsletter and copy something from there.

Yeah I am going to go 'off message' and add some news. :)

Slideshow hangs over to the right by a couple of pixels, and to the left by 1 pixel on Firefox 3.5.7

Font is horrible for the bits that say " School is open as usual " etc.

Top menu looks slightly odd. I think its because the font is quite large and bold compared to everything else, set on a reg background.

Generally theres too many different font sizes and styles. For example where it says "Click image to download latest edition of Kingsway News" the font is so small that when the italic is applied it makes the font look blocky.

and doesnt validate http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kingsway.leics.sch.uk%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

Otherwise its very good.As it stands it one of the better school sites ive seen.

That didn't take long... did you change any of the files?

No, no I didn't.

Ah its back. Weird as I its appeared to be a config issue rather than the webserver itself.

Just my 2cents, i think the nav bar at the top, needs to be a different font, something smoother, and perhaps centered too?

but other than that, looks very clean and nice! me likey!

I think links on the submenus on the side of pages should be a distinctly different colour than the txt of the main content. red like the main bar perhaps.

Looks good to me - which template is it running on?

Its a template created by Sysman_mk with a few alterations to fit the school.

Thanks! Yes I may play about with the menu fonts a bit as I am not 100% happy with them.

Thanks, I will give that a test to see how it looks. I am wary of putting too much red on the page, I hate red and too much looks awful (and of course all the schools I am making websites for have a real bright red as their colour!)
