Have you guys (owner, admin etc) thought about contacting LEAs to get the word about. Ive not heard anything about this site from my LEA but i certainly will be passing the message on to the LEA IT co-ordinator.

Contacting lea we do put words out and some leas do put information to other schools just depends...

Where abouts your from (fill in location in your profile so we all know ;)

But often leas dont like to promote sites too much as causes issues but as said some do.

But please do tell people about us..

Hi James / Steff ... welcome on board ... this is an "introduce yourself" thread somewhere but if you can fill in your location details and stick yourself on the EduGeek Map (link on the left) then you can see who else is nearby to you (and not just in the same room) ;-)

Welcome, come in and make yourself at home. As for contacting LEAs' and schools someone on another site did this and the fallout which was posted on this site led to threats of legal action from the bulk emails origionator when we all declared it to be spam. In short, word of mouth is fine for us for the moment. BETT Will however be a massive turning point for us I feel. 2.5 million visitors and almost 1300 members can't be wrong ;)

Hi there , welcome aboard.

I havent bothered to inform our LEA about it, I have to admit that if I was to tell our LEA of Edugeek they would just phone me up and want to know what this "intanet" thing is, and how to start it up.

Some of the things our LEA has phoned us up about asking how/what to do are hilarious. (like..what using a * in a search does)

Dont get me wrong, I am not saying that they are behind the times, but last time I went to their offices they were heating them by rubbing two sticks together :)
