IS there a factory restore partition on the dell inspiron mini 1011?

 

friend has a dell min 1011 and is in an urgent need to restore this lappy she borrowed and has messed it up. if there is no key what is the best way to restore the mini as they have no cd-rom

Is there a recovery option at boot, sometimes an 'F' key option? I have no idea, but it might be that a quick boot is set in the BIOS so you aren't seeing some of the options, perhaps?

erm not sure tbh, this is a phone call fix, not got the lappy with me i searched google to death for an answer and im not getting a straight one majority say there is not one but can be restored via usb.

 

just thought id ask on here as ive never had hold of one yet to mess about on

we worked on some mini 10's for one of our schools, it depends on the config of the machine, these had the 8 gb ssd drives, and just came installed with media to restore them with. (external drive was extra ;-) )

 

some dells do have a F function recovery but like the other person its hard to say yes press f9 or f12 to get into it, you need to see the splash screen.

 

or get the quick service number off them and look on the dell site, you might find that there is a "service chat agent option on the mini 10's" that you could ask them on with out using the phone.

one other idea if they have more than one mini 10 is to ghost a working one to the faulty one .
