Just got an E-mail from BETT with my E-badge.

"As you have registered Go Green, you will not receive a badge in the post. Simply print off this email.."

We are not going to send you a printed badge, simply print this and then turn up and get your badge printed. Surely this has increaed the amount of paper used??? Surely all I've really done is save Emap on postage?

Saved postage, paper leaflets and junk they stuff in with it, the envelope, ink for it all so it will be saving something I'm sure

I've already had all this, twice.

I'll give you the Polythene wrap it will come in. The rest of the "information" I suspect will be forced on us regardless.

Not really complaining just noting that in order to "go green" I have to print more stuff out.

But does it not also say that you can make a note of the number (under the bar code) and state that at registration? Thus no print-out required your end - just at theirs when they produce your badge.

What a good idea and the answer was?

The answer should have been yes - if the screen is high enough res, a decent bar code reader will read a barcode off it.
