Bookmarking threads on this forum ?

Is it possible to book mark threads on this forum for later use so that finding specific threads etc for later on is easier ? If so , how ?

Funny, I'd actually thought of this the other day and wondered if it was possible.

I thought that all the threads were uniquely numbered so it should be bookmarkable.

Yep they are. You should be able to bookmark the page.

As Geoff suggests or by right-clicking the topic link in the list and "add to favourites".

 

If you want to link a particular post in a topic, highlight the little icon next to "Posted: Mon Sep 05..." in the post and you'll see its a link - copy the shortcut or add it directly to the favourites by choosing "Add to favourites".

@ Geoff - I normally format my machine often so I dont bother with book marks in IE, kind of pointless considering I format often lol.

I must be missing something totally obvious and I feel stupid for asking this but where is the topic link and what the heck is that ?

 

As for book marking I was hoping for a feature where by you could click a link called "bookmark to gmail" and it would save my bookmarks to a gmail account hence I would never lose them or something to that extent and that way I would always know where to find them as well which would make my life easier * GRINS* At least thats the idea hehehe.

Sorry about being unclear [if you use msn, PM me ]

 

On every post, in the column next to the username of the poster, there is the date, time and post subject. You can see a little icon which is a link to that specific post. By placing the cursor over it, you can right-click and copy the shortcut to the post or click it and it will put the address to that post in the Address bar of the browser.

 

I've added an attachment to show you where I mean

 

With bookmarking topic's, under one of the sections in the forum i.e. General Chat, you'll see a list of topics. You can right-click on one of them and Copy Shortcut on that as the address you copy (just like with a individual post address) will remain the same [...unless the topic, post is removed maybe of course - but I'm not sure what would happen in this case]

You also have the homepage settings in 'My Account' gecko - you can make a sidebar menu of your own and add bookmarks as links.
