Edu-IT Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 we have to have something to entice you all to our stand... You're enough for James it seems. I think he's on heat.
EduTech Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Mmmm no freebies before... we have to have something to entice you all to our stand... Entice me! you been there does that on its own! lol :bowl:
skunk Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Why are you not going on the webcam this year? Could this be the reason http://lh5.ggpht.com/_U8sQHzBuECE/SyDtXl27WNE/AAAAAAAAABw/dK-D7HG-e94/s160-c/Edugeek.jpg 1
tsky Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I love how us IT geeks are l00t whores for stuff... Every year I went to InfoSec I was like a child in a candy store named "Everything is free if you can stuff it in your pockets". Many a stand I'd glaze over and shriek "blah blah, whatever, stuff everything you have into this backpack and I'll look at your information later" Hurrah for freebies. Lamentably, I'm not able to make BETT this year... perhaps we need some kind of regional l00t whorage festival in which we can all line our pockets with.. er.. I mean find out useful information from companies and partake in their services.... yes.. that's what I meant.
sidewinder Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I dont really get why people get so excited about getting, lets face it - a bag of crap from BETT each year. But I will admit that zebras, sweets and plants (?!) are a lot more imaginative than the usual rubbish I'm not going to BETT anyway, shame because I wouldnt mind the holiday!
SteveBentley Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Unfortunately we can't get to BETT either - it's just a week too late as it falls during the first week of teaching so it's impossible. Is there any reason why these kind of events have to be held in London rather than somewhere more central, btw?
GrumbleDook Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 The cynical reason it is in London is that is where the politicians, the qangos, the academics and big resellers want it and is a free trip to the shops for some too. In reality it is because it has decent transport links, is good for international visitors to get too and is a good chance to get to the shops!
AngryTechnician Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Wow....that post has temporarily blinded me. I remember when all of Mandy's emails used to be in pink font with smilies at the end. I miss those.
