Just wondering what browser YOU use in school.

 

Will be doing a different poll for what browser you have installed on the network.

Firefox 3.5 on a Linux OS, will dabble with chrome when it's finally stable and packaged, tried to install from source a couple of times but gave up with odd errors.

I use Opera, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE7 and Links/Lynx.

I use a combination, but my main browser is Maxthon. The ability to scroll tabs with the mouse wheel is something I haven't seen in other browsers, and it is so ingrained now that using any other browser is irritating. However, I do use IE8 and Opera, as well as Chrome and Safari.

primarily ie8/7 as its the easist to manage. Personally i use firefox and am occasionally forced to use safari (what an awful browser that is having to drop to terminal to tell it to open links in a tab rather than a new window)

HI I now use Maxthon as it works with our web cams and IE8 no longer works with them so a great plus for me and the more i use it the better it gets knocks the socks of IE8 even better then safari in my view BUT time will tell.

I Prefer chrome, as it doesnt waste parts of the screen with toolbars, and all of that. I also like the addons (ie mode, similar pages and Mail plugin) and Bookmark sync.

Apparently there bringing out 64bit too.

I voted chrome, but techically it's Chromium from the nightly builds.

Chrome beta/dev channel. If your browser is going to be your OS, it needs to behave like an OS, kill processes, view ram/cpu usage. "oh look, flash is using 90% cpu, kill!"

I am using chrome. I love the bookmark sync etc. So many times I have lost good guides etc as they have been on other machines etc. Now my home and work PC are the same. The only issue I have at the moment is the login box keeps popping up for the proxy (Network Guardian) three times since writing this out grrrr. Neither IE or FF do it on this machine.

I'm too using Chrome. Annoyed with Firefox as it kept crashing but Chrome gets the job done :-)

I now use a mix of FF and IE 7, as I find so many sites that aren't fully compatible with one or the other.

I use loads of different ones, it depends on the school which I'm at but the most popular is probably Firefox.

Firefox kept crashing and freezing so I went back to IE8 and it is working, for now.

 

I see someone voted IE6 on the poll though!

I use chrome on all my machines, but when im in schools it varies from IE6 > to FF3.5. I usualy end up on IE8 whilst im in a school

Do any alternative browsers offer the same ease of deployment, update and GPO configuration as IE?
