FN-GM Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Hi, I am due to go to Australia this Saturday for 6 weeks. Because i am a techie and cant afford Business Class. Does anyone know of the best route to get a free upgrade? I am flying with Singapore Airlines. Zak
Boon72 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 turn up early & smartly dressed. when i worked there thats what they looked for
RabbieBurns Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I flew business class. It was awesome. Got an upgrade to 1st class on the leg from Kuala Lumpa to Sydney. In the wee bit upstairs, with my own personal stewardess. The Business lounge at KL airport made the 8 hour wait much more bearable. I was in a hoody and jeans Im tempted to fly back to Scotland for the weekend or something just to make use of the return leg business class flight I have. Not much help to you though, sorry.
glennda Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 What's wrong with standard? nothing, but its allways worth trying!
RabbieBurns Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 What's wrong with standard? Having experienced the luxury of BC on a long haul flight.. Id say a hell of a lot!
FN-GM Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 nothing, but its allways worth trying! Agreed. Also you get more legroom thats pretty good for me as i have trouble with my knees. Also better TV bigger seat more quiet, better meals the list is endless
FN-GM Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Probably be worth digging deep for then. For an extra £2,500 i dont think so, i can manage in economy.
eduabncs Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Upgrades on Singapore airlines are as rare as hens teeth! Good forum site for SQ is here I nearly always fly to Australia to visit family with them as I find the flight timings to Brisbane suit me & their service onboard is excellent. Then their is their hub Changi....! Lets just say you wont be bored or at a loss for something to do while you are in transit for your next flight!
sippo Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I tried to get a free upgrade on our honeymoon earlier this year from economy with Virgin. Not a chance. That'll be £300 each. What?! You now have to even pay for 'exit' seats. Grrr.
