Thin clients - Pros and cons

I don't know much about thin clients, we use to have about 10 but they got replaced over a year ago.

 

What are the pros and cons of looking at thin clients in the future. At present we have over 300 pcs and it is becoming tricky with budgets to ensure all the pcs are in warrenty and in full working condition, the rolling program of replacements has gone through the window.

 

What spec would you look for and what about server side to support the thin clients?

Good for basic office type stuff

 

Not so good for multimedia type stuff
