[ubuntu] Theme

Ok so I'm new to linux, have downloaded a copy of ubuntu 9.1 and compiz advanced desktop and wine... I have taken a few old laptops and made them into a decent one, I have customised my new linux instalation and was wondering...Is it possible to "package" the theme and install it on other ubuntu installations?

 

I am really impressed with linux and am going to start using it in the day to day struggle.

Going to look at the ubuntu server aswell...

 

Any advice greatly welcomed.

you could image the laptop's HDD to an image using something like clonezilla.

 

other than that, i don't know if/how it can be done

Theme details will most likely be saved in various directories starting with . in your home directory. Enable hidden files in your home directory (or do an ls -la on a console, at ~) and see what's there. I don't really do much theme related stuff myself, so don't know what directory may contain what, but it may be a starting point.

 

Also, IIRC, the theme will be per user, not per machine.
