Idiot proof way of burning/copying CDs

OK... the music department finally get their iMacs but now tghere's the list of what is 'wrong' with them.

The main problem that they have identified is an idiot-proof way of copying CDs - apparantly they do have a legal need for this. Does anyone know of a nice free/GNU utility that will pop up a message asking for the source disk and then the target disk and jsut do the job for them?

Whats wrong with using iTunes?

I'd ask this too. The answer might prove quite important in finding something they think fixes the problems...

This was also my initial response but there was a reason and I'm that pissed off with the things I just said that I'd look into it and walked away before I strangled someone.

How can 4% of my machines be taking up in excess of 80% of my time?

4% of my users take up 80% of my time

I think you'll find that 0.15% of my users are currently taking up 80% of my time (we have two memebrs of staff in the music department!)

If the Macs are a new thing for you then it's just a case of bedding them in with yourselves and the users, and managing expectations (maybe the enviornments are different but here we'd manage that CD burning problem away by making sure iTunes worked and then telling them to use that or do without.

There's a few out there, some commercial, some freeware, some shareware, some OpenSource. CDRevolution seems to be quite popular but costs, Roxio Toast is by far the most popular and has the added advantage of burning red book compliant audio CDs so has a serious advantage in a music environment.

The best resource for all types of software (and updates) of all types on Mac is

Sorry, I'd find one myself but helping on the Edugeek stand at BETT so don't have the time.
