I've been to the Intel website and they provide an updated driver to address this issue on this chipset but when I install it I still don't get the correct resolution. Intel® 82945G Express Chipset Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* XP Anyone got one of these boards running this resolution? Thanks.

Im assuming the monitor / TFT supports that resolution 1440 * 900 ( as that is a wide screen resolution afaik - could be wrong ? )

mac_shinobi Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Seeing as its intel you using the intel util to set the refresh rate at 60hz and at that resolution as apposed to display settings ? As per specs page Resolution 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz should look something like below ignoring the green circles http://www.motioncomputing.com/images/training/custom_scheme01.jpg If that does not work I re call having to install the drivers / inf files for the monitor instead of windows just detecting the monitor as a regular plug and play device to install the relevant files / drivers for the specific model of monitor you have and that helps Edited October 26, 2009 by mac_shinobi
cookie_monster Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 I've installed the driver for the monitor and that now appears and i've followed the detailed instructions for installing the updated intel driver which did bring up a few more options but not the one i'm after. I've got it set to 60Hz in the intel control panel but still no joy
mac_shinobi Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) instead of updating it using the update package i would remove it totally , reboot and download the latest graphics card / intel driver and re install it and try again - may have to reboot again to register the drivers before trying again possibly ? Is it not showing the resolution up or what exactly ? After I've installed it I still don't see 1440x900 I'm just in the process of reinstalling Windows so we'll see what happens. 1

No this is a desktop but we are using them on another 30 thin client units and they're fine. I've been on to Intel and tried everything, updated BIOS different VGA driver, with the monitor driver without the monitor driver but nothing has worked. In the end all Intel could tell me was that it worked for them in testing

The Intel board will support resolutions above and below this but not specifically that resolution. Cheers.

As I say Intel say this should work but Stone say that someone else has reported the same issue. If you try the hp monitor on another computer and see if you can set it to 1440 * 900 ??

I thought i'd try another monitor again, i'm unplugging it when I hear a clunk. I look down the back of the desk to discover a video splitter that had fallen off the desk, DOH!!! Unplug that and it instantly jumps to the correct resolution, plug it back in and it reverts back. SIGH
