FN-GM Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Apple remotes haven't been shipped with imacs since the white imac disappeared. I got one in my aluminium one
tech_guy Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I just want one of those 27" beasties - only £1500-odd if I buy it through the school.....
HodgeHi Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Then you may have been lucky. IIRC they stopped the shipment around about then. I'm not sure if it is related but the Remotes magnetically attach to the side of the White iMac to stop them from getting lost. They don't do this to the alu ones But I'm not too sure of the desgin of the new remotes, but do like the look of the mouse...and the 27" imac...and the new macbook looks quite pleasant...and....
jamesmay Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 The alu imacs did come with the remotes, at least the 2.4ghz 250gb ones did. i have 30 odd sitting in my draw...
DrCheese Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Blu-ray. I reckon they are relying on the speed of the internet increasing enough to dislodge Bluray in favour of the streaming of HD films. Sticking in a Bluray player could potentially destroy their HD film sales/rentals. These haven't really taken off as well as the iTunes store has. Well yeah, but they look stupid being one of the only companies left on the market that doesn't offer it at all. The HD rentals aren't HD at all, and it bugs me that they are allowed to advertise it as such.
garethEds Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I got one in my aluminium one And me.... GJE
techie08 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Hang on a minute??? Kids are going to have a field day with the wireless keyboard and mouse surely?
gaz350 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 they have a field day now with the crappy laptop style keyboard! 1st thing i did was dig out all the old chunky keyboards that i'd just put into store!
Tallwood_6 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 You can, change the keyboard out for one of the bigger wired ones for no extra cost so i dont think thats a problem. That 27inch imac does look amazing and my macbook pro is looking a little shoddy.. couple of hundred quid less for the quiad core version and 3 year applecare chucked in and i may have parted with some money. Would be feeling pretty gutted if i had only just got an imac though.
torledo Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 i had a feeling they were going to increase the proportion of the screen making up the front of the new imac. i actually thought they would make it look near identical to the new LCD displays they released a few months ago, but the new imacs still sport the same look as the older imacs. just more screen real estate. Like the new macbook white's unibody, dislike that style of trackpad. I just can't take to that trackpad without the seperate button on the macbooks. Atleast it's not 'glass' as is the case on the alu macbooks. And LOL at the macbook white now being the one without firewire. love the new mouse. so am i right in thinking that there is now no wired version of the smaller laptop style keyboard ?
mac_shinobi Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Well yeah, but they look stupid being one of the only companies left on the market that doesn't offer it at all. The HD rentals aren't HD at all, and it bugs me that they are allowed to advertise it as such. Not sure all the hardware is HDCP compatable on a mac - I've got the 2008 mac pro so was contemplating getting an oem LG blu ray drive for around £70 but then saw some games on the PS3 slim line which I now have and it plays blu ray just fine. Yeah I agree with that hence why I do not purchase films off the itunes store
mac_shinobi Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Also updated : Mac Mini (Anyone fancy a Mac Mini server for their school? ) MacBook Apple Keyboard Magic Mouse (With new multi touch scroll wheel pad thingy, might be getting myself one of those!)
