Hi guys

Trying to find out which leavers had a free school meal eligibility. Is all this data wiped for reporting purposes when a pupil leaves? I can clearly see the data in a pupil's record, but a report cannot pick it up.

Can anyone explain / confim / riddicule

It should all still be in the system.

Have you tried creating a report with 'use effective date' and using the day before they left as the day?

Well i've tried that, and the pupil is still showing as F for eligiable for school meals and the FSM eligiblity dates are still blank, even though if i browse to record i can see them.

Your "effective on" date (right hand side in your JPG) reads as 12/10/2009 where the childs record part of the JPG reads that the eligibility ceased sometime in September.

The effective date doesn't seem to be set properly.

ahah! BUT! this will only work if i manage to pick a date within the elgibility range. This report is supposed to look back and show leavers with a listing of when they WERE eligable...

If i run the report for 31/08/09 (1 day before eligibility) then i get no dates

Try this one (import it into SIMS and run it) - not sure if it is exactly what you need but worth a go...

It should be a .rptdef file type but instead I had to rename it to .txt as rptdef is not a valid extension on the forum.

Thanks for this, but this is my point! Your design is almost the same as mine and both do not work correctly. If you are looking at when the pupil was eligible for FSM, you have to date the report to fall within the eligibility range, otherwise the pupil comes back as "F" no eligable. Plus the FSM dates do not get populated. So if you were looking at all Leavers who had different eligibility dates, you cannot get an overall list!

It is not working correctly i am sure :bowl: :bowl: :bowl: :bowl: :bowl:

That is pretty annoying actually - it seems that the eligibility dates don't pull through unless the effective on date is within that period.

As far as meal eligibility True/False is concerned the effective on date will provide you with the T or F for that date only.

I suppose this bit makes sense as the child could be eligible for FSM and then not eligible and then change back to being eligible so what it is reporting is true.

As for the eligibility date ranges not pulling through that is rather annoying.

Can I ask why you need it?

Sure, We need to look back a schools data for leavers to see if at any point they were eligible for FSM. I think there is a funding issue in a school and they need corrobative evidence.

short of trawling all 200 pupils i cannot see a way to do it.
