synaesthesia Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Nice one. Not a huge fan myself as it's a little bit bloatier than the ZA of good old, however wonderful for some haphazard users and people who survive on ignorance and lack of protection 1

jedmondson Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 whats worse is when you install antivirus and they still get something. the one with the virus removal tools in it.
tech_guy Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 whats worse is when you install antivirus and they still get something. the one with the virus removal tools in it. I know, we get this all the time with some people!
tech_guy Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 Used to be a good product. It still is compared to some of the other programs out there.
fafster Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Good deal in that it's free, but does anyone actually still use a third party firewall if they're not behind a router? I fail to see the point, myself.
OutToLunch Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 • Credit card required for verification Burger that for a game of soldiers! Tries to add $20 of junk to your cart too which you have to remove before you actually have anything for free
synaesthesia Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Didn't get that here, just an email with the licence (misspelled) and download link. I know, I'm a pedant
tech_guy Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Don't know what you clicked on to get a prompt for your card but I've had me email with the link and I've downloaded it already.
Boon72 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 2pm on the dot i got on the site and filled in my details, got home and ive got the email with the code, just need my Windows 7 pre order now
dalsoth Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 It still is compared to some of the other programs out there. Commodo is better. To be honest though i rarely use more than Windows Firewall anymore and have not had any virus reported on my Antivirus for years. Could ditch both but i have 8gb ram and a quad core so it does not hurt my performance. If you are sensible online and don't click random links in email messages to dodgy sites then you should not need to bother. Basic Windows Firewall and Router is enough for me.
OutToLunch Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Don't know what you clicked on to get a prompt for your card but I've had me email with the link and I've downloaded it already. Really? I went from ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall Free - 24 Hour Promo Click either of the download buttons and it takes me straight to a cart with a $39.95 price copy of 2010, discount of $39.95 showing underneath, 2 extras at $10 each. Remove those and click checkout to try and get the download and it wants CC details after creating an account.

I fail to see the point, myself. I was about to sign up for it and thought the same thing. I dont use one now, and havent for years, so would I really use this? no
