Definately a step in the right direction, although reading the article I wouldn't assume it's cloud based - it says it would be easy to upgrade to the full version which makes me think it might be software based but run adds like the ones displayed on Live Messenger?

Michael Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I certainly never said a free online word processor was something new, but it is thanks to Google and others which force Microsoft to make these decisions Open Office is a very good offline alternative.

tech_guy Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Yes, good riddance, but I'll miss having to explain in a bored, monotonous voice over the phone the difference between Microsoft Word at work and Microsoft Works on your computer at home, and how to go into Works and save your lovely document in a format so that it can be read by Microsoft Word.....and, yes, I know the programs are produced by the same company, blah, blah, blah....all the time pulling faces and rolling my eyes up in to my head.
