Anyone got this working on Server 2003? We've had it working in the past but I'm not entirely sure how the person who used to work here did it.

There's no drivers available for server 2003 on the HP website.

Hmm!

Probably being thick. It is Monday.

Is there any way I can extract the driver from the .exe that HP provide? I no longer have the printer discs, but I assume my colleague perhaps chose the 'have disk' option and then found the driver on there.

We have a bunch installed on one of our servers that's running 2003. Just use the XP drivers and if they come as a .exe from HP.com, it's usually just a self-extractor. Set to something like C:\HP and pull the driver from there.

A bit wobbly is right. They changed their whole driver installer. It looks like if you have an XP box, you can download the driver and run the installer. Looks like it installs to C:\Program Files\HP. From there, they are under the Digital Imaging folder.

If you're still having problems, I can RAR them up and drop them somewhere for you. Any suggestions, as they are ~30MB?

Tried, tried, tried again and failed miserably!

Anyone else want to give it a try for me? Be very grateful! I've found the drivers on the old network, but there's no .inf so i can't import.

I right-clicked on the setup.exe file on the cd and clicked Properties and then the Compatibility tab and chose "Run this program in compatibility mode for Win 2000" and it worked fine. As for the interface, I had the printer plugged directly into my router

Take it they used the windows 2000 setup exe and before running the exe used compatability mode for windows 2000

Tried that, and it complained about colour needing to be 16 and not 32, or vice versa, and it not being a valid product. Been a long day and server is throwing a fit now so I can't get into it until I do a reboot.

I would contact hp directly on the phone or via email and they may be able to email you a server 2003 driver or instructions etc as when you check the specs page it shows server 2003 but the downloads page for both uk and usa do not have a downloadable driver for 2k3
