garethEds Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Hi, I'm looking for a price for 300 x Office Pro 2007 licences. When considering this, I wonder if anyone could advise on Microsoft Licencing - are we better going for some sort of agreement - especially with Windows 7 on the horizon. We are currently 300 machines running XP and Office 2003 PM the quotes if possible. GJE
powdarrmonkey Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but Office 2007 is part of the schools agreement pack, along with Windows.
Ric_ Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 @garethedmondson: It's definitely worth going down the subscription route at the moment. All the really good features in Windows 7 are only in Ultimate/Enterprise and the only way to upgrade to this is via a license with Software Assurance. There's two subscription licenses available now - Schools Agreement and Subscription Enrolment for Schools Pilot (SESP). Each of these have benefits and SESP has the added benefit of being able to be 'bolted' onto another license-type (e.g. if you want to license a particular building or group of users for something extra). From my experience over the last few weeks, getting prices on any of these options is like getting blood out of a stone so good luck!
jsnetman Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Go to Ramesys we got ours for 30 quid and a free upgrade to Enterprise on a School agreement +.
Ric_ Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Go to Ramesys we got ours for 30 quid and a free upgrade to Enterprise on a School agreement +. That sounds like the Select+ agreement which is basically a Select agreement with 3 years of Subscription Advantage (hence the upgrade to Enterprise - although after the 3 years I believe you are not entitled to use Enterprise any more unless you renew your Subscription Advantage or buy new licenses). Ther's a wealth of information at http://www.microsoft.com/uk/education/schools/software-licensing/default.aspx
