Panda Cloud Antivirus

Anyone used this for their anti virus on Citrix, etc? Just looking into it as I don't want to run Sophos on our thin client set-up!

I thought I would give this a bump as I noticed it while I was creating a new thread for it!

I've just come accross this product and would be very interested in hearing some experiences if anyone else has used it.

I'm looking at something like this to be deployed in a very small primary school.

Sorry to bump this thread again looks like the lack of replys means noone is using it or it is rubbish. I have tried it on a personal pc and it seems to work fine and no worrys about updates etc as they are done automaticly. I have not seen it tested anywhere i am looking at putting on an old pc and getting infected and see what happens. I know from an admin point of view there is no control or anilist but you can purchase this and have sent a email to get some costings. I hope to report back soon with my findings.

If I'm honest, I can't quite remember why I didn't go for it in the end - there must have been a fairly good reason at the time!

My end solution was to negotiate cluster licensing and have SWGfL open up sufficiant ports to allow inter-school communication from the endpoint server (bit over-technical, but very cheap for the school concerned at the time + easy for us to centrally manage!)

I have experience of Panda Cloud AV in schools.

The problem we had was opening My Computer and clicking on a network drive (wireless laptop).

The system froze and would not respond for maybe 30 or 50 seconds. Then it released and lists the contents of the network drive.

This occured on every XP machine we installed on.

Our conclusion was that Panda is checking the cloud when you access files or folders for some reason, perhaps on-access style.

This is over wi-fi alongside the network drive access, so perhaps it was a bandwidth issue, but our wireless was quick otherwise.

So we had no choice but to remove Panda.

Run away! Don't go there. Its probably cheaper to look at the Lea option...

I've been using Bit Defender recently which is pretty good. We OEM it through our support platform.

 

There is multiple cloud AV's now from most of the major suppliers.

As RTFM says, we deal with Panda among others and it is a decent option but I would recommend Vipre. Quite a few people on here use it (including ourselves) so you'll find some good reviews floating around.
