oalcock Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Hi There, I have a problem with installing WinInstall LE 2003, When I put in my e-mail address which it requires during the install, I get an error about DNS cannot be found (please see attachment for screen shot). It wont let me put in any e-mail address wether its hotmail or googlemail or my work e-mail. I shall appreciate your help and advice. Thanks
sparkeh Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Where did you get this copy? I used to have this problem with older versions but downloading the new version from the Scalable website cured it.
oalcock Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Unplugging the network lead worked!! Thanks for all your help!! Ollie
oalcock Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 My manager searched google for it, it took him around 10-15 mins to find though
K.C.Leblanc Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Depending on what you want to do you might also want to have a look at Free Windows Installer - MSI Installer Tool. And if you need a nice clean machine to building software images on, and to test them with have a look at VirtualBox.
Bluetooth Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Hi. This happens because WinInstall LE has been discontinued by ondemand software and they have disabled registration and installation of any new copies (unless you're smart). This is probably to get you buying their new msi packagers etc. a few ways around this are as above removing your network cable through the install, and also if you already have wininstall installed elsewhere, you can simply go to c:\program files\ondemand\ and copy the wininstall folder there to anywhere you need it, share it, permission it, bobs your new uncle. GL

PaulP Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 WInINSTALL LE is available for FREE. It can be downloaded from http://www.scalable.com/softwaredownload/ledownload or Google WinINSTALL LE and you will see links on most pages. The current version is 10.004 which supports Vista and Windows 7.
