Here are the revised update packs for September 2009! Please note there have been some big changes to logistixonline.com over the summer, but I still continue to create update packs due to the high demand and many praises, so a big thank you to you all! All types of update packs now come in smaller WinRAR format. This allows for better compression, but also allows technicians on slower internet connections to download multiple, smaller files rather than single larger files. To download the files, please navigate to logistixonline.com and click on 'File Library'. The rest is self explanatory and all files come with instructions and dates when files were published The following updates are available: Logistix Google Earth Logistix Office 2007 Compatibility Logistix Plugins Plus Logistix Windows XP SP3 Post Updates Logistix .NET Framework 7

OutToLunch Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Got the 5 part XP one downloaded yesterday - not had chance to try it yet but it sounds simple enough Is there any particular reason you had to break it up? It would be quite handy to have the part 1-5 links direct from the page listing them rather than having to click through to each page, click download, click back, click to next etc, if possible.

The other problem is some people just link directly to the download and not my website so I receive no hits. I provide the packages for free, so a small amount of publicity shouldn't be too much to ask By all means, once you have the script and files, you can ZIP or RAR it into one large file. 1

What I was trying to say wasn't "Could you link directly to the file" more "Is there a need to have an additional page for each single part of the download?". At the moment, you have to go main list -> part 1 page -> download <- list -> part 2 page etc, would having all 5 files linked to their http://www.logistixonline.com/index.php?pid=file&fileid=xx from the main list page for the XP patch set make a difference? Run validation on the package to make sure the package is correct" Ive copied the whole folder across not the the MSI, any ideas? Getting this on all the 2003 R2 and non R2 servers ive tried

Is it possible to just set this to . so the batch will run from anywhere or is there a specific reason you haven't done/couldn't do this?

I simply followed Microsoft's guidelines when I originally setup the files to script installation of multiple files. The single variable allows you to change it to a path of your choice, including UNC paths. 1

Sorry, just thinking of normal command line/batch conventions - . being the current directory, so running the install.bat batch file in the same folder ought to work as .\IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe /quiet /passive /norestart instead of %PATHTOFIXES%\IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe /quiet /passive /norestart on each line and make the installer portable rather than requiring editing. Happy to go off and break something trying it out myself to find out, just wondered if you'd already tried it like this with no joy

It is good practice to put this right at the start of any batch file that references files in the same or sub-folders: pushd %~sdp0 If you want to get back to wherever you were, make this the last command: popd The pushd line changes the working-directory to the folder where the batch file lives, and if that happens to be a UNC path then it (necessarily) maps a temporary drive letter there first. 1

Michael Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 I've also uploaded the latest Google Earth 5.1, released September 9th. Looks the same on the surface, but I'm sure there must be some differences. The file size is much larger than Google Earth 5.0
