Hi all,

I've been testing windows 7 for about 3 weeks now and have noticed that the cisco vpn client doesn't work... ! x64 only.

I have been looking around for other sources of vpn client and this 1 caught my eye. This software has been an great bit of kit, i have had it connect to cisco ASA's for upto 17 hours and the line hasen't dropped.

It's pretty cheap to licence aswel.

Software

The Cisco VPN client seems client fussy full stop if I'm honest, our LEA provide 1 copy for the IT Manager and it doesn't work on Vista X64 unless they upgrade to the newest Cisco stuff so its all too specific for my liking. Give me good old Open VPN via the Smoothy :)

They do have one, its our LEA that won't update it at there end as it probably costs money knowing Cisco everything seems to cost money with them.

The AnyConnect client works, but it doesn't support IPSec

There are also quite a few "hacks" which involve XP Mode and a few that don't to make the 64bit version run the client.

64bit isn't planned for the VPN Client though

Cisco VPN Client Version 5 is available for 32-bit Windows Vista. There are no current plans to provide 64-bit support for the Cisco VPN Client but 64-bit support is available for the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client.
