tech-man Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 We have had some Promethean Pro boards installed - does anyone know if ActiveStudio will work with them? Thanks
Sylv3r Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 According to the Technical info on this page it can't be used. ActivBoard 300 Pro : Interactive Whiteboards : Products : Promethean
Steven_Cleaver Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 We have had some of the same boards I think, you will probably need ActiveInspire software, you can download this from their website you need a key off the Activ Studio software. All the drivers are included in the ActivInspire MSI. see link English : ActivInspire : Software : Support : Promethean Planet, you will need to register if you don't already have an account. Hope this helps.
teddybear Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) Install version 5 of the driver (via a custom install of ActivInspire) and it will work. You do need to download the whole ActivInspire software (roughly 250mb) but the custom install works just fine. You definitely do not need to use ActivInspire, it will work with ActivePrimary and ActiveStudio. We are not ready to roll out ActivInspire to 30+ schools so just installing the driver is fine. I spent an afternoon trying to find this out, total nightmare as the company installing the boards didn't have a clue, they were totally useless!! They've left one board not working, left us contacting Promethean to get it sorted when they should have done any fix it required. Edited August 29, 2009 by teddybear
Jamman960 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Have installed activ Prim/Studio alongside Inspire on the pc's attached to our new pro boards - it all works perfectly Only just had them installed and still have 1 to go in but they're great - especially with the sound being done via USB and the whole install is much tidier without having to rely on the nuvo amps(which I've always found to be a bit unreliable. Quick question though - has anyone noticed that the pens sometimes don't write and that bits of letters are missed when changing direction? ie when writing an S the top bit may be missed etc
teddybear Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Have installed activ Prim/Studio alongside Inspire on the pc's attached to our new pro boards - it all works perfectly :-) Works because Inspire puts v5 of the driver on
