If you are one of those twisted people who will close applications then reopen them in a different order just to get the taskbar entries in the right order, then fret no more. Just download Taskbar Shuffle and save literally minutes of your life.

Or is that just me?

I'm with AJ on this one... I have to have things open in a certain order, and will close things to shuffle them.

You're not alone AJ, that's two of us who are obsessively compulsive about our taskbar orderings!!! ;)

Yep, me too :) It's most annoying when the left-most app crashes and you have to close other programs to get it to the left again. Thanks for the link :)

Im the same, my email must be the 1st item, then Active D then NSM then my personal webmail, then all my other junk in any order, i'm even like that at home!

Maybe it's OCTMD - Obsessive Compulsive Tasbar Management Disorder.

In my own defence thought I would point out that I no longer have any difficulty walking on the cracks in the pavement. ;)

Congratulations!! You deserve a medal the size of a dustbin lid for that ;)

Thankyou! Great app

Im another one who has to have Outlook open first, then admin tools mmc, then firefox, then everything else

One thing, when I installed that program it said it strongly recommends turning off 'group similar taskbar buttons' - is there any reason why? I like having them grouped

Posted
It probably cannot move them or may break it when moving them about? I haven't the need for grouping having multi-monitors both with double layer taskbars so plenty of room for them :D

I'm another non-grouper. I usually drag my start bar up a row or two to make room for all the apps. This also gives you more space for QuickLaunch, which I use quite a lot.

I'm a non-grouper, but I totally don't care what order my taskbar apps come in. A quick glance soon deciphers which is which.

Well, someone's got to stick up for StewartKnight!

With only having a screen capable of 1024x768 (Not complaining though, it's a superb 15" Samtron 52v) I only have limited space - no room for double-height taskbars or extended quick launches for me 8). That's why I have my start menu organised in groups - everything is a quick Windows key and a couple of letters away. (Or Windows, Letter, Enter if it's the top entry) :D

Only when the titles are short enough to fit in the space allocated on the taskbar. Not always the case. Some apps are so egotistical that they like to have their own name in the title bar ahead of any document name or whatever.

does it work on multi-monitors? Infact why don't I try it and see .....

Edit - nope still no multi-monitor support, but I do like the new funky dragging buttons thats nice

I must admit, I dont have that issue now....

Mac OS X mmmmmmm

I've only had the beta version of yahoo messenger crash on me and that didnt re arrange anything, but I did drag it to the trash and waved good bye to it :p

There is a pc magazine that have all sorts of utils ( task bar shuffler being one of them )

I used to have lots of them.
