Installing Devizes booking system on server 2008?

Has anyone managed to install the Devizes booking system on Server 2008?

I have not worked out how to use the new version of IIS so I can't follow the instructions.

Yeah, I managed to get it working.

 

What stage are you stuck at?

To be honest I'm stuck right from the bit when you have to change IIS settings as it looks so different!

 

I'll take another look tomorrow and give more detail.

 

IIS just doesn't seem to have the same options?

Tell me about it... it was a pain in the backside to install for me too.

 

I'll explain pretty much what you need to do - but I can't provide screenshots as I don't have a 2008 VM I don't think.

 

Booking System Web Site.

 

Step 1 - 4 is the same as 2003 etc.

 

Step 5: Right Click on the Folder (Active or whatever it's called) > Create Application

 

Step 6: In the main IIS window http://www.fdesignfr.com/test/AspNetForum/Images/IIS-7_Manager.jpg Choose either application settings under the ASP Group (first row far right hand side) or ASP under the IIS Group (third row first one)

 

Ensure Parent Paths is set to True

 

Step 7: If you require Authentication its under IIS > Authentication. Can't remember the settings that we used for domain logins - I think it was Digest though, make sure all the other authentication methods are unticked.

Don't you just love 2008 haha. I better install a 2008 VM to play about with again - we've both gained something out of this!

Not sure Love is the right word! I just moved to 2008 over the summer so I'm still finding "features" all the time.

Our NM has migrated all of our servers to 2008 over the summer too, I was given the task of doing the Intranet, Helpdesk and Room Booking. Hence how I knew (after alot of attempts!) to install it no problem.

 

First Attempt - got it all working, then PHP / Helpdesk Broke

Second Attempt - Everything was working fantastic, NM accidently deleted the VM

Third Attempt - Physical Machine, took me a night to get most of it working. Still finding little links here and there that point to the old web server.

Did you install on a DC or member server? My install is on a 2008 member server and Integrated authentication isn't working, this seems to be an issue, just wondering if you managed a workaround!?

I have the same problem on a 2008 member server , username and password is not recognised. the member server is Trusted in AD.

 

I have tried digest authentication and windows Authentication

I moved it onto a DC in the end. It picks up my name okay, I'm hoping to 'go live' today!

Digging up an old thread, but help would be appreciated.

 

Moving this over to a 2008 Server 64bit and running into problems.

 

Issue appears to be no JET drivers for access a .mdb file within 64Bit. So I've set up the Application to run in 32Bit mode but it still can't access the database.

 

Anybody had any luck getting this working on 2008 64Bit ?
