I am looking fo some software (preferably free) to run across the network to alloww online booking of ICT rooms. Anyone have experience of this. We have an Apache server already with database set up that runs a Support ticket set up for reporting faults online. :?:

I have an asp solution which runs from a access database if you like?

theres loads out there for free MRBS is quite good, i needed a two week timetable and this wasnt really what i was looking for but a lot of schools use it.

I only wanted to display rooms that were available. I have simple drop down boxes which let you select the "week commmencing" then the day and period and it shows you which rooms are aviable. Click and book, only that user can delete the booking.

I didnt like MRBS layout and look, much prefer my own.

@Geoff: Well I had to read and edit the file to get it to work anyway so if you've acheived this feet maybe you'd like to provide some more information rather than the uneeded comment you allready made.

edit the "$vocab["rep_type_6"] " option in lang.en to read:

$vocab["rep_type_6"]         = "Bi-Weekly";

IIRC newer versions of MRBS have this fix included.

Well at the moment I set all mine to repeat every 2 weeks anyway.

But what it doesn't do is enable me to input a whole terms bookings and then take into account that when there is a holiday we don't count that as a week.

So we go week1,week2,holiday,week1,week2

and not

week1,week2,holiday-week1,week2,week1

I would love a solution that enables me to select the holidays and if any bookings are set for those on a repeat to shift it forward a week.

Doubt that is ever going to happen so this year I will do half term 1 then half term 2 as 2 seperate lots just means I have to input the stuff twice.

Yep, all you do is enter the period, week, day and teacher into the database once for your timetable and that is it. I'm working on creating a form in Access to add these easily.

Hello,

I use http://www.roombookingsystem.co.uk in my school.

It handles Bi-Weekly timetables.

you can enter in the holidays so it shifts the correct weeks about,

it only displays the free rooms and in a timetable view,

change one option in the admin panel to make all new bookings provisional so an administrator has to check them,

can set it up so teachers can only book x weeks/months in advance,

its perfect!

Hi Webman,

Hows the development coming along? Just looking at what products are out there.... Yours seems ideal..

Would love to be able to give it a go.
