Jake Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 On a more positive note, think of all the extra hits this thread has generated
webman Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I think it gained about 7 pages within the space of 24 hours
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Yea! 8 even. "I haven't seen a good thread like this since the great........" Chris
webman Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 "I haven't seen a good thread like this since the great........" ... virus outbreak of VBS.LoveLetter in 2001
Jake Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Just goes to show that arguments always make the best threads on forums ! Come on..someone argue, lets at least reach double figures on the thread pages
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Ugh, when will people learn about scanning attachments!!!! Chris
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Here's one..... Everyone should go RM CC3 :O !!!!! Chris
webman Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 In my opinion I don't think it'd be a good idea to argue over the matter just to increase the page count, it's just morally wrong and places the SQL server under unnecessarry pressure. 8) (Est. 3 more posts to get to page 10 )
webman Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Here's one..... Everyone should go RM CC3 :O !!!!! Chris Yeah, why not? 8O
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I don't have many problems with it tbh, it works for us as a small team, is a bit frustrating at times, but hey, that's the job we have. Chris
GrumbleDook Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Actually ... why not? It works for some schools ... not for all ... but isn't the work that most of us are doing just going to end up in the same sort of area? Especially since we all share ideas about how an AD should be set up ... which GPOs to use ... the same methods of mandatory / roaming / default profiles? Eventually we could end up with an EduGeek flavour of a vanilla AD ... what would make use different to RM at that point ... discuss!
Jake Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 The biggest irony of my existance is that here I am saying how much I have to do, and yet I have quite easily wasted 5 hours of the last day and a half working time on this thread And yay...10 pages ! Fantastic..who says debate isnt constructive
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Edugeek Network Solutions Ltd, I like it! consultancy, installation, network support etc. "With the largest joint support team in the UK" That's something for the future! Chris
Disease Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 @DMcCoy you should come over and see us Jake and I are only in portsmouth.
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I had work experience at gosport, 2 weeks of network maintenance, ended up spending one week doing VB interfaces for them.... Chris
DMcCoy Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 @DMcCoy you should come over and see us Jake and I are only in portsmouth. Why not, its always good to see what other schools are up to! All in the same business (education) but no two are the same, one of the reasons you can never find a one size fits all - perhaps an issue with the bsf scheme I went to Uni in Portsmouth
Jake Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I had work experience at gosport, 2 weeks of network maintenance, ended up spending one week doing VB interfaces for them.... Chris I'm from gosport...place is a shithole..not unlike portsmouth. Or england for that matter. (as you can probably guess, patriotism isnt a quality thats particularly high in me ) On the plus side, I imagine that those 2 weeks of work experience you did probably count for the total work done in gosport in the last 20 years, there are so many benefits claimants here that they are thinking of renaming the town in 2007 to dossport
ChrisC Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Hehehe, it was with Geo. Kingsbury, big automotive testrigs company, dunno if you know it. Chris
Jake Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Doesnt ring a bell...but then I've not had much call to know any automotive testrigs companies
Blanka Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I had work experience at gosport, 2 weeks of network maintenance, ended up spending one week doing VB interfaces for them.... Chris I'm from gosport...place is a shithole..not unlike portsmouth. Or england for that matter. I have had bad experiences in Gosport! One of which was not being able to get into the shops in the high street because the queue for benefit claimants was spilling out too far. I was most disapointed not to be able to make my all important essential argos purchases. The other episode was being chased back from a corner shop in Rowner by about thirty 8-10 year olds of BMX bikes! I really could of done with some spare CAT5 that day to strangle the little buggers and hang them from local nearby trees! Here's some advice for anyone wishing to go to gosport! DONT!
