Excluding toners which are looked after under a contract with a company, we have been given 5k this year. We are a secondary school with around 1000 students.

This will need to be used to buy projector bulbs for 50+ projectors and repairs (lots of vandalism) and replacements for chargers, AC adapters and all other computer and laptop repairs and maintenance.

Anyone else think this is too harsh? We have £1800 quid left till April since replacing bulbs and repairing things that were overdue in April.

It would be nice to know what budget some of you get purely for repairs and maintenance, a general techy type budget that excludes things such as broadband and full new computer suites.

Hey, no prob - I always have the spreadsheet with the figures on very close to hand ;)

I have about £59k total to spend this year. It's been split down thusly...

Toner - £6000

Repair - £2000

Minor IT Dept. Stuff (think screw drivers, post it notes) - £2000

Software - £300 (two copies of Windows 2008R2 Datacenter)

Printers - £2000

Projectors - £3000

What ever is left after that is room upgrades, laptop for teachers, etc.

including every thing appart from staff, so thats:

leasing

hw purchasing

sw purchasing

infrustructure

subscriptions (SLAs, broardband, etc)

sundries

£180 ish we have in our finacial plan

but that does take into account new builds and server replacements and the scope for a managed wireless solution.

thar be a lot of sticky yellow things with £2k lol

Actually not got any sticky yellow things (or screwdrivers) yet and the budgets half gone! I do have a technet subscription and a Lenovo Netbook though :D

Oh, and a set of ladders

I have about £6k for toners (and drums etc)

Then I have a "repairs and maintenance" which is £15k.

Paper comes out of a central pool (it gets a bit mushy, but we dry it off  ).

I usually get to spend a lot more than this on new PCs cabling etc.

Last year, the toner budget was set at £15k.. but this was reduced when they realised I only spent about £6k of it.

We have about 600 PCs (including netbooks and notebooks) and 1500 students.

I've been given a hefty wedge this year (over and above) to upgrade servers and networks.
