Run application on group of computers

Over the summer we're moving from Ranger to a vanilla network and i've already found a number of tools which give us a lot of the same functionality. I was just wondering if there is anything out there which would allow our teachers to start an application on all the computers in our ict suite. At the moment in Ranger, all they have to do is browse for the .exe on their computer, choose which computers they want the app to start on and click OK.

So you would require a Classroom Management Application such as:

Netsupport School The Classroom Management Software

 

AB Tutor Control - classroom management software for schools

 

I use AB Tutor at the moment, as it is the cheapest option and does everything we need it to do.

There's not many mate to be honest, ABTC covers everything a school would require it to in my eyes, ok maybe a few years ago it was pretty bad but there new version is really good and we have had no problems with it at all.

 

We used to use NetOp, but Computers kept falling off all over the shop so hence the change.

That's good to know. I did check the NS website but couldn't see there was significantly more.

 

We also used to use Netsupport (under the RM Tutor) badge several years ago but switched to ABTC as it was more cost effective than upgrading to acquire new desirable features.

Indeed, one thing i do like about there licenceing is that you can have as many clients as you want you just have to buy a tutor licence for each "teacher" "technical support representive" and the cost for that is something like £125 per user

 

So its very cost effective, and works just as good as the leading brands who charge through the roof initially.

There's also LanSchool. Not sure how pricey that is though.

May be worth looking into whether you can fashion something involving PSexec and some batch files, if you want free
