[ms office - 2007] Copying Hyperlinks in Excel

I have a spreadsheet with a column of hyperlinks. The text for the cell is sumply the domain, http://www.edugeek.net for example, however the hyperlink points to the exact site, http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/ for example.

 

I would like to show the actual link in a cell. Given that I have over 200 rows this is not something I want to do one at a time is there a quick way to do it?

 

To rephrase I have colum's like this: www.edugeek.net

 

And I actually just want them like this: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/

There ought to be a way to copy the address into the Text to display box in the Hyperlink edit dialogue. Maybe a Macro? Don't know of a really quick way.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is. I can copy/paste the URL example you gave:

 

http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/

 

And it appears in full in Excel 2003. I also tried without http and it just appears as text (not a hyperlink).

As I understood the question - the spreadsheet already contains the short addresses but Stuart_C wants to display the full addresses instead. But of course I could be mistaken.

You can manually chnage the display of hyperlinks by right clicking > Format/edit Hyperlink > "Text to Display" (thats for 2003 anyway).

You can, but if the spreadsheet already contains the short addresses, in a number of columns, how are the cells to be edited? Not one by one as that would take far too long given even a small number of cells.

You can do hyperlinks with a formula (and inspect their properties) - if you're still stuck lemme know
