... that when remoting into a Server I have the option, on the Start menu, to Shutdown but on a workstation I only have Disconnect. Why not have Shutdown on both as I'm just as likely to want to re-start a workstation as I am a server.

And so was posed one of the great questions of our time (in the same vein as "why is there no Vista log off buton?").

 

I have a hunch that it's for users remoting into their own workstations, to deflect them from shutting them down and then wanting to get back in ten minutes later. Wheras, as an administrator, you're supposed to be able to deal with that kind of planning.

 

Personally, I'd have put them the other way round, but I am not Microsoft.
