RobFuller Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I’ve after some quotes for hard/tough monitors; we are looking at a decent number of them as we have become very disappointed with AG Neovo's after painfully slow warranty service!! It’s taking months and that’s unacceptable. Basically a minimum spec would be 17”, VGA + DVI, VESA mounting points and integrated speakers. Some monitors we have been looking at are the Edge 10 T193 19” wide, anyone using theses in the wild and can comment on their ‘toughness’? TIA, Rob
krisd32 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 i've got loads of GNR tg 704d glass fronted tft's which weren't too expensive and they all seem to work and never had a single problem yet! (touch wood). they have all you want for your minimum spec also. 1

pete Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I'd steer clear of Edge10. We've found that trying to get monitors replaced under warranty in a timely manner is near impossible. Whether they're having supply chain problems or they're being useless, I'm not buying them again. 1

OutToLunch Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Not sure if the Acer ones are still available - they'd have to be an updated spec as ours only have VGA input, however one of ours survived a direct fully boot football impact the other day and thus get a thumbs up from me on the toughness front!

TIA, Rob we resently got a load of Hanns-G HC196 monitors which were a great price for 19" hard screen's. good picture quality - only missing DVI cables (got the port)

Also as we are also looking at the longer term and monitors we have which will need replacing this would be a considerable number of monitors, would any of you be willing to lead us various models so we could compare and evaluate before we commit ourselves? I had a faulty monitor. Sent it back, They sent me another faulty monitor with a different fault, I sent it back and they sent me my original monitor back with the same fault not fixed!!!! On third try they got it right and it's been ok since. But their pig ignorant attitude annoyed me so much i've sworn never to use them again. Shame cause I know they've missed out on many thousands of pounds of business.

Sorry to hear you had problems,I think this is where many vendors fail , they create superb products but fail on the support,
