boomam Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Bag of... tbh Weve had it installed for months now, took me hours to get it to display the template i want it to. And now i want to change the content, its not only NOT doing what its told, but its displaying things all over the place. Im seriousy considering getting rid of it if i cant get it working in a way thats easy for the office staff by the end of today.
Crowmanuk Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 You're not overlapping regions are you mate? If you do that you will get some odd results. We've had it in for the last 3 months now and it works great without a hiccup, for something free its leaps and bounds ahead of some of the stuff you'd pay for.
glennda Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 its 10x better then the navaho boxes we replaced it with

Sorry if this is a bit obvious, but have you checked the resolution your using? I had a problem when I was trying to use a widescreen TV, but I still had to use a 4:3 monitor setting to get it to display properly.

Sorry if this is a bit obvious, but have you checked the resolution your using? I had a problem when I was trying to use a widescreen TV, but I still had to use a 4:3 monitor setting to get it to display properly. I'll have to try that... Anyway, the most annoying problem is that the schedule doesnt work as intended. For example, i have our main screen set to use 'template1' which works fine. Our test screen is set to use 'template2', but doesnt use it, it still displays 'template1'. And the schedules are quite clearly seperate and no broadcasting is going on either!
penfold Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 You can also check the default display for each of the screen you have registered. Have you set the default to template 2 for your test screen under the display console? That way if it doesn't recognise that some content has been updated it will/*should* still show template 2 (your default). If that doesn't work, you could try to re-register your test display again?

anup509 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Video HELP: I would like to put a video to xibo. Does anyone know what format it has to be in and does video work ok on xibo? Please reply. Thankyou in advance.
glennda Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Hiya, you can use either wmv, avi, mpg or mpeg. you will most likely need to change the php.ini file to allow larger files then 2mb to be uploaded. there is a guide here they play okay but bear in mind the client might need a codec pack or something. Xibo uses windows media player to display the videos. Toby
CHR1S Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Im finding my upload speeds are taking ages, any ideas what could be causing it? Is it another php.ini setting perhaps?
sarchs Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hi, I have just setup Xibo and got it displaying over my screens. I have got the news channel streaming and internet pages showing but i cannot get RSS feeds to work as a ticker what am i doing wrong. This is the RSS feed i want to use Sky Sports | Football News
Crowmanuk Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 My RSS feeds packed up after I upgraded to 1.05, I still need to upgrade to 1.06 but if you do a google for xibo and rss feeds you'll find a few people having the same problem mate.
maniac Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I find if the RSS feed doesn't load correctly when xibo starts up, it just sits there with 'loading' on the screen. I fould putting the xibo client through our proxy helped, even thou it can access the feeds without needing it.
OllieC Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Helped a nearby secondary get their Xibo signage up and running this week. Also heard of another recent large-scale implementation this week. ^_^
anup509 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Need Advice: What is the best way to display lots of Pictures on Xibo, I dont want to upload 1 by 1 or use powerpoint photoshow because it crashes alot. Is there any other way to display pictures fast and easy way?
penfold Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 How about loading them into windows photostory? Mass load the pictures you want and then load up the created video into Xibo instead? This is what I do here after the suggestion from another edugeeker
anup509 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Thanks for the quick reply, I've downloaded and installed and created WMV video file using lots of picture, I've uploaded to Xibo and set duration to 500, But its not loading the video on client PC. I can see black box but video is not playing. What am i doing wrong? Thanks again for you support.
