born2surf Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Hi everybody, i had the same problem with hp lj 1320dn and 2055dn. It took me 5 years of my live to figuir it out why.... In our company we use HP Switches and HP Printers. I have also disabled SNMP on our printserver, but didn't work. The thing is: on our switches I have disabled SNMP authentication on particular port on which the printers are connected and enabled SNMP on the printserver. AND yes it has worked.
jsly80 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I have an HP LaserJet P2055x that works fine during the day and then the following morning is locked up and needs to be restarted. Is the beta firmware that is being out via PM's the cure for this? Thanks in advance
Tapper Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I have an HP LaserJet P2055x that works fine during the day and then the following morning is locked up and needs to be restarted. Is the beta firmware that is being out via PM's the cure for this? Thanks in advance If the answer is yes, I need a link to the file too. I have the exact same problem on a printer with the latest firmware from HP. I have two other printers with older firmware that are working fine. Thanks!
jsly80 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...nvOID=2100#290 Choose Firmware on the download options and download the firmware updater.exe Once you run it choose a printer (make sure it isn't printing anything as the firmware updater sends a print job to the printer Once installed try one of them out before doing the rest, ours seem to be fully fixed now Hope that helps
Jona Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Hi all, Sorry to resurrect this epic thread, we have the same problem with lots (~6) of our 2055s randomly dropping off the network about once a day and refusing to respond in any way (ping, snmp, web) until they are rebooted. Have applied the latest firmware using the update utility, does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks Jona
AJWhite1970 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 It was firmware v 20120615 that cured this behavior for all my 2055's if that's any help? Andrew
FWBD Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I've got a link to the firmware update mentioned in the previous post so that can help you guys find it easier Drivers, Software and Firmware - HP Support Center Going to try this on our 2055's and see if that does the trick!
MooreFX Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I have a customer that still is having the problem of the printers going off line can I get a copy of the Beta Firmware? Thank you!
FWBD Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I did link it previously but it appears that link doesn't work any more, I'm pretty sure it is on the official HP site though, http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=3662058&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253Dlj_66014_11%257CswEnvOID%253D4063%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

fieldservicetechnician Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Is the beta f/w for the P2055 still available?
psydii Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Bah. wrong link sorry. You'd have thunk the link to firmware from the 2055 support page would link to the firmware for the 2055 printer eh? Obviously not. Edited March 10, 2015 by psydii
