+1 really, I’m also starting to suffer with this problem and its defiantly come about since we went Win7 x64 and moved our printserver over to 2008R2. I've had so many problem with the printer only printing the first page then stopping, I think I've finally managed to get that working using the HP universal driver but not its starting to repeatedly go offline. Does anyone have the URL to this 'beta firmware'?

It may or may not be related to the original problem, but see... MS kb 946198 "The print queue status is displayed as "Offline" on a Windows Server 2003-based print server if SNMP is enabled and if the printer devices do not respond to SNMP commands"

 

 

Our print servers are on Win 2003 SP2, applied the patch but waiting for a good time to reboot!

 

We had SMTP problems with a lot of printers last week (not just 2055's, other HP's and Oki's). Disabling SMTP in Printer Properties->Ports->Configure Ports brought the printers back online straight away. 2055s DHCP'ing has been only a very intermittent problem for us.

The SNMP fix only makes sure your printer doesn't display Offline, it still goes offline in the background

Unfortunately I am still having the same issue. I tried the suggestion of disabling SNMP. I also decided to turn off IPv6 since it's not being used in my case. As soon as I did that and they restarted their printer the printer came on and started printing right away. Instead of taking upwards of 10 minutes to come out with one report. So I will report back if it keeps it going or if the printing continues to hang up.

They can be erratic and repowering usually brings them back for a few days.

Got the issue here as well.

On my side, the printer also "reset" its configuration to BOOTP from time to time.

 

Is that occuring on your sides as well ?

 

Another pb I have is Im unable to connect to the web server, always saying "System is initializing..."

Any advices ?
