It may or may not be related to the original problem, but see... MS kb 946198 "The print queue status is displayed as "Offline" on a Windows Server 2003-based print server if SNMP is enabled and if the printer devices do not respond to SNMP commands" Our print servers are on Win 2003 SP2, applied the patch but waiting for a good time to reboot! We had SMTP problems with a lot of printers last week (not just 2055's, other HP's and Oki's). Disabling SMTP in Printer Properties->Ports->Configure Ports brought the printers back online straight away. 2055s DHCP'ing has been only a very intermittent problem for us.
