How do you manage your servers remotely?

Forgive my ignorance but what’s wrong with using vanilla remote desktop connection

 

It's insecure, and susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks. As far as I'm aware, anyway.

for about 3 months our IP address kept changing, so I installed logmein.... never really had a problem since

I am with VirginMedia and I my IP Does not tend to change unless they do some major maintenance*which has been pretty regular lately* and then I do get a different IP but apart from then it is pretty static.

 

But if you would like to guarantee you always have connection something along the lines of LogMeIn would do you just fine so another vote for that.

Logmein here too, have been using this for a couple of years now without any issues.

I usually manage ours via VPN, but also have used logmein in the past for my work PC and servers.
