When a student user currently logs onto my VLE, he is greeted with the courses he is enrolled on and when he clicks "see all courses" button he is then shown a list of all courses (catagory hiarachy & courses). However, there will be other courses on there that i dont want him to be able to even see on this page, is it possible to filter this out in moodle so that he only sees the courses that he is concerned with and nothing else.

Can this be done by hiding catagories to roles in moodle? so like you can only see a catagorie and its contents unless you are in this role or this and this role etc.

Cheers

I dont want to hide the all courses button, i want the students to be able to click it (or a button similar) that will only display courses and catagories to which i want them to see.

I think there are only 2 options, see all course (names) and hide all course. The only other option is to create a custom links list in the main apge summary, you can also use icons for links

You can hide courses from students by using the show\hide button (the little eye when you have editing turned on)

This of course is also an all or nothing scenario...

I use this to keep courses from students but staff can see them.
