westran Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Help needed... I have an iPhone and mobile me. At home it works great but I got it to sync my work outlook and contacts to my phone and home as I forget things if not reminded all the time... My pc at school has the software installed but when it tries to connect it can't. I assume it's something to do with the pc being on the schools network. We run server 2003 and on yhgl. Could this be filtering, the Internet access or ??? Any ideas please as I've not heard anything back from our tech guys.
Guest Guest Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) Unfortunately it wont go on your network as it knows you are trying to use it to do work, Apple products arnt designed to do any real work on and are only really "for dickin around" Sounds like a driver issue, something which can only be fixed by an admin and a probelm which isnt really as well documented at it should be. Tell the techy to take a look at this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/33485-signed-driver-package.html Ahh.... just read what "mobileme" is (apple and their stupid names, it just looked like you had made a typo ), anyway it really depends how things are set up in your individual school and on the yhgl, either the schools or the yhgl's, proxy or firewall is blocking it. Again a job for techies and nothing you, or anyone on this forum, can do about it. Edited April 5, 2009 by Guest
pete Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 FYI - the last time I looked at a mobileme issue is was due to some wanky browser detection javascript. Something along the lines of "You're not using Safari, why not download it" that was being blocked and prevented access to the "Carry on using my current browser" option.
