I think some of us here clearly have some form of addiction :)

Nothing serious here.

Main rig is a C2D Q6600

File server is an RM F series - although it's mostly off these days :/ Probably gonna get rid in the next couple of days, more storage in the main box!

Media centre is another F series running Mythbuntu

Just 100mbit networked. No point putting anything decent in a flat until I finally get a house - and when I do, will grab some dead networking kit and see if I can ressurect it :D Surprising exactly how little of my hardware is new. In fact, the only current new pieces of hardware in my entire system is 1 x 1tb HDD, the CPU cooler and motherboard. Everything else is scrounged from scrap/repaired :D

I don't have a home network, I just have -

1 PC which is getting on a bit, Duel core 2.4GHz, 2GB ram and 2 x 120GB HDD in RAID1 for the OS, with a 750GB External E-SATA drive for all my storage needs.

1 very old phillips 17 inch TFT monitor. (manufactured 2003 - owned since new)

1 Router, BT home hub thingy.

1 Dell laptop, quite old, hardly used.

That's it!

I spend all day working with PCs, I really can't be bothered with them at home. This PC does everything I need it to do, including running a few virtual machines for testing. It's badly maintained, and badly in need of a re-format as it keeps crashing at the moment and it's driving me nuts!

Ive downgraded mine even further to the point where the only network hardware is a wireless router.

Couldnt even be bothered to have any cables or a small PC as a server anymore, so bought a Western Digital WDTV box and am now just using a simple USB drive as storage :)

Wow! I am seriously shocked at the sort of kit some of you have!

I just have a creaky old Desktop (with a huge list of quirks) for personal stuff, my school laptop and gfs school laptop for general surfing and an ancient airport extreme. Oh and a Wii hooked in to wlan.

You guys are mad, I have to mess about with computers all day at work. Why would I even want to look at one of the damn things when I get home.

Couldn't agree more :)

Most definitely, I have a lot of equipment in my office at home but that's where it stays! I do enough work during the day and don't have the time or the inclination to be playing with computers after that!

At home i just have the one PC and one laptop

the laptop is my work one which stays in the bedroom to play films on (really need to buy a TV for the bedroom!) and the other is in the living room as my gaming PC (E8400, 4gb ram, ATi 4870, windows 7 rtm, 24" TFT)

i tend to decide that i hate PCs as soon as i leave work, but i do have a bit of an OCD when it comes to cleaning computers up, for example my missus mate bought a dell laptop the other day and it came with soooooooooo much crap on it that i had to sit there for 2 hours cleaning it up and making it quick (or as quick as a celeron can be).

Got enough bits and bobs to make about 3 half decent PCs out of, one of which would be a xeon server with SCSI raid but i can just never be bothered after i've been at work all day :(

My servers sit in a rack up the top of a wardrobe, on a UPS etc, dont need any interfering with.

They even download the daily TV episodes automatically etc, sort themselves into TV series folders automatically at the end of the week, etc etc.

I just used to come in, sit with my Netgear Eva8000 remote, browse to TV then New, and watch that days new epiisodes.

Now Im miles away, they are my VPN / proxy access to get a UK IP to watch IPlayer etc..

(and the slingboxes are invaluable for the football thats on at 4am that I cant go to the pub for)
