dansymons Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Having a strange problem with a new MS Office 2003 install on a Windows Vista Laptop. All the software is working fine apart from Word, which just hangs on the splash screen when you try to open it. I have narrowed this down to a problem with the Normal.dot file and deleted it. Word then opens fine and when you close Word, it creates a new Normal.dot file. However!! When you try and open Word again you are back with the same problem.... I have reinstalled Office several times and cleaned up all the leftover files and registry keys but cannot get rid of this problem. Any ideas? Cheers
